Let's Do This

Someone once said that the strong make it happen while the weak make excuses.  Although this may seem rather harsh, the truth is that we all live in two worlds: the real one and the one inside our heads I have been fortunate enough to meet successful people over the years and they all seem to have one thing in common.  They understand that there is a link between their dreams and reality.

These are two worlds that can be connected by a bridge, a bridge that, like any other bridge, can simply be built by taking action to get you from where you are to where you want to be.

Anybody with a little bit of know-how can take consistent action to bring the world they live in a little closer to the one inside their heads.  However, these people do not get distracted by wrong turns and disappointments as they know that within every misstep is a lesson that they can use to help them achieve their dreams.  Therefore, their failures actually bring them closer to their ultimate goal.

We may all want to get there quickly, but that is rarely how it works, you have to earn it.  Many people live in these two worlds all their lives without the two of them meeting.  For some reason, most of us believe that dreams are just that, something to smile about as we gaze outside the windows of our lives, something we’ll talk about in the beginning of the year, but get too busy, tired or fall back into the same pattern as the previous year to remember our dreams.

Our dreams are more than that.  They are manifestations of all our hopes and desires for this life.  They represent our life as a place where pleasures and purpose are constant.  Dreams, goals whatever name you want to give them, show us how our lives could be if we just had the courage to step outside our comfort zones and reach for something higher, but the fear of failure often stops us from trying.

Is it more frightening to try and fail, or to regret never trying at all?
